Boating with a Club or Friends and Family – You’ll Love Living the Grady Life!

Club participation can be a very rewarding aspect of the Grady Life! The Cape Lookout Club recently traveled from the Beaufort, North Carolina waterfront to New Bern, North Carolina. Seventeen people and five boats, ranging from 21 to 27-feet, made the trip. Club trips are a great way to get comfortable traveling outside your normal boating area. Aside from the pilot boat, no one in this group had made the trip to New Bern before. Everyone agreed, the reason they made the trek this time was because of the safety aspect that comes from traveling with other Grady-White owners.

This 1979 Marlin 201 is still a great boat for Sam McLamb and his family. He grew up boating around Topsail Island, North Carolina. Today, they enjoy using the boat at Lake Fontana in the western part of the state. “Our kids enjoy water sports, and my wife and I enjoy using it to access remote shorelines along the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where we hike and fly fish,” notes Sam. “The lake is quite large, up to 450-feet deep, and it can get rough, so the stability and size of the boat is comforting for everyone."
