Smithfield Station

I highly recommend Smithfield Station as a destination if you find yourself in southeast Virginia. It is located in the historic town of Smithfield and can be reached by boat via the James and Pagen rivers. You can choose to stay on your boat (services include electric, water, internet, cable) or stay in one of the very nice rooms that are available. A restaurant is onsite serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are shops on site and more just a short walk up the hill into town. A small pool is just right for kids. The TGWC held an event there in June of 09 and everyone had a great time. The only consideration is they do not offer fuel service but that is available just a short ways downriver. Check it out at www.smithfieldstation.com
