Brian Dillistin, left, captain of Canyon 336, "Hard Bargain Too", took marine artist John Barber fishing in mid-January out of Virginia Beach, VA, and off the coast of North Carolina. Two of the many rockfish caught that day qualified for release citations. "All five fishermen aboard had lots of exercise cranking in big, fat healthy fish!" wrote Barber. "We even spotted a whale breaking the calm Atlantic water..."
The best day of billfishing ever experienced! sums up the adventure of the "Bent-Bill" crew out of Manteo, NC, on a fine March Monday. Tom Harrison and daughters Savannah, Caroline and Rebecca went out with Ben Blystone aboard Bernie Blystoneis Express 330. Caroline caught a white marlin over 100 pounds. Rebecca caught her first sailfish, and then another. Tom hooked yet another sail while clearing lines for Rebecca (a double!) and Ben brought it aboard briefly for a photo. All bills were released successfully. On top of all this, Savannah caught a tasty dolphin/mahi mahi and there was a yellowfin tuna taken as well.
Tanner Gray and Scott Erickson caught these black sea bass, all over 12 inches, off Topsail Island, NC, aboard Gray's 1985 204 Fisherman, "Kwite Outta Line". Good fishing!
Jose A. Mejia considers his Canyon 336 to be the best fishing machine built! He caught this white marlin 14 miles northeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Bill Reynolds from Cherry Hill, NJ, weighs in a 41-pound striped bass, November 2009. Bill is looking forward to many great Grady days aboard his new Gulfstream 232 purchased from Somers Point Marina.
