George Lang caught an 81-lb. wahoo aboard Capt. Ron Cox's Marlin 300, "Hot Lick", out of Ocean City Fishing Center, MD. It was George's first offshore trip, and the wahoo was the largest caught in Maryland and Delaware for the 2008 season.
Chuck Kahlert landed this beauty near Kiptopeke, lower Chesapeake Bay, aboard Brian and Cathy Hodson's Islander 270, "C-Time". The citation striped bass was 47", and weighed 45 lb., 6 oz. the next morning. The Hodsons are president and secretary, respectively, of the Tidewater Grady-White Club.
Carol Miller and her husband Joe from Glen Allen, VA, upgraded to an Express 305 from their Gulfstream 232 and have headed offshore more frequently. Carol's catch from the new Grady included her first citation striped bass weighing 43.5 lb. at 49 inches. Now they're on the lookout for even larger fish (and a larger shopping cart).
Tom Mooney's fishing team Murphy's Irish Pub placed second overall and son Luke came in first in the junior division during an American Striper Association National Tournament. "Our Express 330 performed great and beat up on the Fountains!" The fish weighed 42 lb. and 52 lb. The Mooneys hale from Virginia Beach.
Proud Girls - Isabelle and Carlie Kennealy show off their catch after a fall afternoon trolling and jigging for rockfish near Breezy Point, Chesapeake Bay. The Sean and Nicolette Kennealy family own Tournament 190, "SeaNic".
Richard Moffett is one satisfied fisherman with a very nice rainbow trout caught and released from his Adventure 208, "Joyful, Joyful", based on Keuka Lake, one of New York's Finger Lakes.
Barry Bailey shares this photo from Down Under where the black marlin were in for Christmas 2008. "Eight kilo line, three for three!" Released, of course, from an Express 305.
Reel Nice One - Barry Turner, Reisterstown, MD, caught a 44" striped bass trolling near Solomons Island aboard his 2007 Gulfstream 232, "Reel Y Late".
Tanner Gray reports that gag grouper (and the reds) have been solid off of Topsail, NC. He fishes a 1985 Fisherman 20, "Kwite Outta Line". "She's almost 25 years old and I fish her hard."
Maine State Record - Jean Baulu, his captain Richard Robichaud, and crew won $10,000 for breaking a Maine state record with a 470.5-pound blue shark brought in during Port Harbor Marine's Casco Bay Classic. They fished on an Express 360.
Capt. Ed Mancini caught a 57-inch, 120-pound bluefin aboard his Voyager 248.
The Richard Garza family from Weslaco, TX, Express 265 owners, caught 12 king fish in two hours east of the Port Mansfield jetties. Son Richie holds one of the catch. Their Grady's name is "La Espanola".
