Tampa Bay Grady-White Club - When poor weather was forecast for the east coast of Florida, the Tampa Bay Grady-White Club cancelled their trip to Stuart October 18th-23rd. Plans were quickly put together for a long weekend escape to the Captiva - Sanibel area by several of the members, Bill and Judy Eckerle took their Sailfish 282, Dream Maker to South Seas Resort. Joining them were Norm Englert and his sister Jill and husband Darrell visiting from Ohio. John and Dixie Buick came from Cape Coral. Also joining by car on Saturday were Greg and Wynemia Aterburn. Although no fishing was done, all enjoyed great meals at some of their favorite spots like the Bubble Room and the Mucky Duck. Two lunches were done by boat at Cabbage Key and Pine Island. They were blessed with beautiful weather and an abundance of wildlife, manatees, dolphin, osprey and sea turtles. This group enjoys Grady trips so much and hate to cancel, if they can get one boat in the water ---- they're going !!. Good Grady times, Great Grady friends!!
The newly formed Lake Erie Grady-White Owners Club enjoyed the festivities at Beaver Park Marina's annual Grady-White owners tournament. Grady-White owners are unique, passionate people who love their boats." Bill should know, he owns one too!

Grady Lady Tournament - For the second weekend in a row, a small craft advisory forced the cancellation of the Chesapeake Bay Grady-White Club Grady Lady Fishing Tournament but the weather was not going to keep these ladies from fishing. All the registered ladies met at the Calypso Bay Restaurant to compete in a very different kind of competition. Instead of their usual rods, tackle and bait they were given a plastic fishing rod rigged with suction cups instead of hooks. There were several species of brightly colored cardboard fish placed out before them. All the ladies had to do was make their best cast and hook into one of the winning fish. Following the event and we spent the remainder of the evening enjoying a delicious dinner and each other's company.
