Terry Early’s introduction to boating began as a young boy spending vacations and weekends at Lake of the Ozarks, MO, where his father always had small power boats. After college, Terry moved to Houston, TX, where he primarily sailed on Galveston Bay. After a few trips to the Gulf Coast, Terry got “salt in his veins” and knew he wanted to spend more time on a body of water that allowed more exploration and travel options.

“That’s the only way you’re going to ever own a boat,” said Kate Sweetser when her husband, Tom, said he was going to purchase a $10 raffle ticket from the Gulf Coast Conservation Association for a chance to win a Grady-White Fisherman 204. That was in the summer of 1991, when Tom and Kate first moved to Alabama and attended the Dauphin Island Fishing Rodeo. Fast forward 29 years and they have just purchased their fifth Grady-White, a new Freedom 235.

Grady Fanatic Mike Firetti is having a hard time sleeping these days in anticipation of taking ownership of his next Grady-White–a 370 Express. He’s calling this boat his new Grady “1250”. A number that totals the four Grady-White models he’s purchased, which includes a Tournament 275, an Express 330, a Freedom 275 and now the latest, an Express 370.

Plenty of people in eastern North Carolina know the Taylor twins and their mischievous ways. Which, by the way, are legendary. Together they’ve made some amazing memories on Grady-White boats. In fact, some of their earliest shenanigans on the Pamlico River centered around a 16-foot Grady-White dual console their father bought them for skiing and duck hunting in the late 1960s. They enjoyed that boat so much that when they would see Eddie Smith, Grady-White CEO, they’d ask, “When are you going to build a larger dual console?” Today, they’re living the dream with family and friends on their 2015 Freedom 335!
