Build stringers by placing patterned cut pieces received from the mill department into the appropriate building fixture. Place stringers on mobile dolly. Visual inspections before laminating. Report defects to lead so they can be corrected. Check resin spray equipment for proper operation. Sand areas that are rough to remove any obstructions when installing stringers.

Responsible for trimming holes and excess laminate off of boat decks using a variety of saws, drills and sanders. After laminated decks are pulled, trim or cut holes in the deck using saws and drills. Trim excess laminate around the perimeter of the deck. Clean and oil all tools thoroughly and frequently. Send damaged tools to maintenance for repairs. Keep grind templates properly labeled and organized making accurate measurements.

Apply resin and fiberglass to hull molds by hand using spray guns and rollers. Ensure smooth, consistent lamination with no air voids. Responsibilities include equipment checks, surface prep, and tool maintenance. Attention to detail and fiberglass handling skills required. 2nd shift.

Spray gel-coat evenly over entire mold with correct thickness. This is done by hand with gel-coat spray equipment using a mil gauge to check for correct thickness. Requires concentration, manual dexterity, and attention to detail with high accuracy and quality.

The Boat Washer/Wash Pit Associate is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and transporting boats throughout the final finishing process to ensure each vessel meets Grady-White's high standards for quality and presentation. This role washes and dries boats of various sizes using specialized cleaning equipment, sprayers, brushes, and other tools while maintaining a safe and organized work area. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, basic reading and math skills, the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and a commitment to producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Touch-Up is responsible for repairing and restoring gel coat finishes on fiberglass boat components to ensure each vessel meets Grady-White's high standards for quality and appearance. This role identifies and repairs surface defects using a variety of sanding, patching, and finishing techniques, including the use of air-powered tools, gel coat applications, and spray equipment. The Touch-Up Technician also cleans fiberglass components and prepares boats for the final washing process. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, enjoys hands-on work, and can perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Experience working with fiberglass, finishing, automotive body repair, painting, or manufacturing processes is preferred.

The Boat Builder - Canvas Installer is responsible for installing vinyl canvas components on boats and assisting with the wiring of center consoles to meet quality and production standards. This role uses hand and power tools to assemble, fit, and install materials while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate can accurately read a tape measure, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality are essential. Manufacturing experience is preferred, while wiring and carpentry experience are considered valuable assets.
