Jay Scarola and his Bimini 306 fished the 2009 Mike Schmidt Invitational against some of the best anglers in sportfishers ranging from 50-70 feet. His 44-lb. dolphin was the largest caught on the smallest boat. He made a Grand Slam with the dolphin plus a tuna and a wahoo. He was the 2006 Grand Champion. This event benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Hall of Fame baseball player Mike Schmidt handed the foundation a check for $200,000.
Susanne Fuchs is an artist and fashion designer based in Germany. She and husband, Milan Behensky, enjoyed the fishing off Marathon Key, FL, in their new 306 Bimini purchased from Caribee Boat Sales in Islamorada.
Milan Behensky is pleased with the king mackerel fishing off Marathon, FL, in the Keys. He and wife, Susanne Fuchs, own 306 Bimini, "Grouper Trooper".
Reed Choate accompanied by Ken Bower and Brad Hoffman caught these striped bass aboard his 306 Bimini, "Candy", out of Barnegat Inlet, New Jersey.
Striper Fishing Machine - Ron Schaefer sure can find the spring stripers in the Chesapeake! He fishes a 2007 Express 305. "So far it's been a great pre-season. This photo was taken the day before the season opened, April 17th, so this fish went back into the Chesapeake Bay. We like to get them back in the water ASAP. We caught three fish that day in an hour and a half."
Jim Utterback and son, Scott, say it was a team effort to land this one--the biggest rockfish they've ever caught. The Utterbacks were fishing in the Chesapeake Bay near R2 Buoy aboard their 2007 Seafarer 226.
What a Day! - Glenn and Lesley Appleton's grandson, Jared, is just as happy with the bait as he is the quarry. He fell asleep atop the fish box on the family's Escape 209, "Get Reel", holding his prize.
Dave Lippemeir landed his first bluefin estimated at near 180 pounds aboard Mike Desmarais's Canyon 336, "Lucky Girl", at Stellwagon Bank, about 50 miles from Mike's home port of Portsmouth, NH.
Chris and Bret Bishop dive from the family's Express 305 to nab these cobia. The Bishops are from Jeanerette, LA, and are customers of Grady dealer Cypress Cove.
James Taylor of Brick, NJ, caught his 45-pound wahoo on an Express 265, and says his Grady is the "only outboard made that you can fight fish off the stern!"
Spot a Cutie! - Cliff and Debbie Ingram's granddaughter, Casey, age four, is pleased with the large spot she caught aboard the family's Seafarer 22.
Frank Masse, right, and buddies Moon and Rob linked up a sailfish rare to the northern waters of the Spencer Canyon, out of Somers Point, NJ. This was aboard FX's Bimini 306; he now owns an Express 330, "Tiburon".
