Cobia catch of a lifetime! - Len Pepe and friends Jason, Craig & John were spearfishing 25 miles east out of Ponce Inlet, FL in waters 70-100 ft. deep. While John and Len were surfacing, John pointed out a school of cobia to Len that he had seen earlier. "Now they were swarming us at 15 ft. Just as I'm scanning the group I see the "Mack daddy" swimming up from the bottom right at me! I fired just over the right eye into the head and 2/3 of the shaft went right through and out by his left peck fin! He swam slowly down to the ray at the bottom and I was towed along holding my gun...I just followed stringer of fish and weight dangling. After hitting the bottom he made a few circles and mad dashes and tired of pulling us around...two jabs to his mid section with my knife while bear hugging him slowed him enough to let me grab his gills and sink the final blow into his head. The cobia pushed the scale to MAX with more to go @ 50 lbs so were all guessing he was about 60!"
Holly Muscoe shows off a couple of nice Lake Michigan king salmon she caught while fishing with her husband Brad aboard their Adventure 208.
