News: Onslow Bay CCA Honors Eddie Smith for Lifetime Fisheries Conservation Leadership
Members of the Onslow Bay (NC) Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) honored CCA Life Member Eddie Smith with its Annual Lifetime Conservation Achievement Award at the organization’s September 24, 2015, banquet. Smith, the CEO of Grady-White Boats, was introduced to the crowd of over 400 recreational fishing enthusiasts by longtime friend and industry peer, Linwood Parker of Parker Boats. Other notable recreational boating industry supporters, CCA members, family and friends who turned out to honor Smith for his lifetime fisheries conservation work included Chris Smith, his son and CCA life member; Joan Maxwell, president, Regulator Marine; and Dell Murphy, president, and Jeff Turner of Albemarle Boats, The Carolina Classic.
Linwood Parker and Rocky Carter present Eddie Smith with a drawing created by Eddie’s childhood friend, Bob Timberlake, to honor his Lifetime of Conservation.
A framed letter from CCA National President Patrick Murray was also read and presented to honor Eddie’s conservation work on a national level.
