CAPT. SCOTT MOORE gave a clinic on fishing the waters of Tampa Bay, Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande at the Cannons Marina customer appreciation party.

Cannons Marina, Longboat Key, FL, held a customer appreciation party March 15. Over 125 customers enjoyed an old-fashioned barbecue prepared by SMART Chefs, a local group of people who like to cook and do so for the benefit of the Sarasota/Manatee Association for Riding Therapy. This program assists special needs individuals through therapeutic horseback riding. On hand was Capt. Scott Moore, veteran fishing guide, who gave a clinic on snook, redfish, trout and tarpon fishing.

Baert Marine, Middleton, MA, hosted marine electronics seminars in February and March for the boating community. Those attending had the opportunity for hands-on demonstrations.

Land's End Yacht Sales, Harrison Township, MI, held a "Get Hooked" open house March 12 as a follow up to the Detroit Boat Show. Forty to fifty people attended with visions of warm boating weather overcoming the snow drifts outside.

Tri-State Marine, Deale, MD, saw more than 135 people during their March 1-2 fishing school. Guide Richie Gaines joined outdoor columnist Bill Burton to cover light tackle and flyfishing in the Chesapeake Bay, including action from the kickoff at the Susquehanna Flats in April to jigging the bridge/tunnel complex at the mouth of the bay in December. Charter boat captain Wayne Morgan shared his secrets for catching trophy striped bass in the spring, trolling for Spanish mackerel and bluefish in the summer, and back to stripers during fall migration. Capt. Morgan demonstrated rigging techniques including the use of planer boards.
